Ground Beef Burger Bowls

Thanks for taking the time to check out this recipe 🙂 This recipe has become a regular in my meal plan lately an I LOVE it!! I can’t take total credit for this recipe because I have seen other people put together similar meals, but this is the recipe I personally use and love! I’ve grown up on a farm and one of the things my dad raises is beef. When I first started my health journey I started gravitating more towards chicken and lean turkey because it has less fat, well my dad has been giving me grief for a while now… so I am trying to incorporate more beef into my meals because its homegrown and I’m very proud of that! It has also helped me to remember that I should never cut certain foods out of my diet because “it has too much fat” and instead should be embracing ALL foods. Especially when it’s from my own dang farm 🙂 So with that being said, hopefully, you’ll be seeing more recipes incorporating beef, and maybe even some pork too! Let’s get to these yummy burger bowls.

Here are the ingredients that I used:

Before I go through the steps, I just want to mention that I meal prep these ahead of time so that is how it is pictured here as well! So if you are planning to meal prep, then follow right along! If not, then you can just separate into regular bowls/plates instead 🙂

STEP 1: Be sure the meat is thawed out. I personally just popped mine in the microwave for a couple minutes and it works fine! Then go ahead and begin browning the meat. I used Mrs. Dash Onion and Herb Seasoning for the beef and I love it! It is a great seasoning for meats like beef and turkey.

STEP 2: Cook your rice as desired. I measured out a half cup (dry) in each container separately and then microwaved them individually. You can also cook it all at once and then separate it out into the containers. Personal preference!

STEP 3: Once your beef is browned, add it to the rice.

STEP 4: Then go ahead and add 1/4 cup of shredded cheese to each bowl!

STEP 5: Add your desired toppings. I personally like shredded lettuce, cherry tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, and mayo! You can also add things like onions or mushrooms, whatever you typically like on your burgers 😉

And now you have yourself a burger bowl! These are so easy (I prepped them in 25 minutes) and super yummy! 🙂

MEAL PREP

Like I said, for meal prepping purposes just follow along with the pictures above! I do want to mention though that I keep just the rice/beef/cheese in the container in the fridge, and then when I’m ready to eat it I heat that up and then add my toppings afterward 🙂
